the foldable storage box has been cut from a butter soft full grain 1.6mm vegetable tanned, washed and tumbled horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan, and an aniline bone dye treatment. 

culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.

crafted with a multiple piece pattern, the box is hand sewn with our signature overlocked sides and closed seam construction in a tonal 0.65mm hand waxed Japanese linen thread over a 24 hour period without the use of machines. the unlined interior features a two panels to the base adding stability and giving the impression of a classic cardboard box.
